The Liberation War of Bangladesh was a revolution and armed conflict between West Pakistan and East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) from March 26 to December 16, 1971.
The war resulted in the independence of Bangladesh. An estimated 3 million people were killed. December 16 is celebrated as Victory Day (Bijoy Dibosh).
